PodLink

As an avid consumer of podcasts, I have noticed over the years that most podcasters employ a very weak call to action to promote their shows: "Find us wherever you download podcasts." What everyone needed, I thought, was an easy-to-read aloud URL that still offered listeners links to their preferred apps.

I decided to build a simple solution that addressed this for the majority of popular platforms. Taking the opportunity to learn a new JavaScript framework, I dove into Vue.js and built PodLink—a service that generates landing pages for the 700,000+ shows in the Apple Podcasts catalog. Via the premium plan, podcasters create their own vanity URL and add Spotify links to the roster of apps. Not only has PodLink fulfilled a need for accessible show promotion, it has become a viable go-to source for easy linking to podcasts and is used by influencers and podcasters, including those at Vox Media and Simplecast.
